Western Digital Corp. today said that its TiVo-enabled My DVR Expander external hard drive is now available with a capacity of 1TB. The external drive can store up to 600 hours of standard-definition television or 140 hours of high-definition programs, the company said.
“Consumers can instantly and seamlessly expand their TiVo DVR recording capacity by simply attaching the My DVR Expander to their TiVo DVR,” Western Digital said in its announcement.
The new TiVo-enabled external drive, which uses eSATA connectivity, is also available with a capacity of 500GB, the company said. The 1TB version is priced at $199, and the 500GB version costs $129.99.
Along with TiVo's Series3 and HD DVRs, the Western Digital My DVR Expander is compatible with Explorer 8300 Series DVRs 8300, 8300 HD, 8300 MR, and 8300 HD-MR DVRs.
