Vodafone has launched its Secure Device Management solution in Qatar, which it claims will help businesses better protect their company data with in-country support.
It says the service will enable IT managers and administrators within an organisation to remotely manage all of their smartphones and tablets.
This means devices can be remotely locked and wiped if they have been stolen, can be tracked via their GPS locator if they are lost or can have their mobile apps remotely managed.
This could ensure employees have all the tools they need to get their job done when out of the office.
Niraj Singh, Director, Business Services, Vodafone, said, “Businesses already know that security is a big issue on desktop PC’s or laptops so they have invested in anti-virus protection to prevent data being accessed.
“With mobile devices, there is an even greater need for security measures. We are delighted that Vodafone is the first company in Qatar to offer this kind or protection for mobile workers and that this is supported through our existing local service teams.
“Helping employees to be as productive outside the office as they are inside it is an increasingly important area for companies. Doing this securely is critical and Vodafone Secure Device Manager is the right first step in the journey to securely mobilise a company’s employees. Vodafone is delighted to help companies in Qatar achieve their goals with such solutions supported by our unmatched customer service.”
The platform also comes with a security feature that encrypts emails sent between the device and the corporate network, offering added protection of confidential company information.
