TRA, Creative 971 sign MoU to enhance e-commerce in UAE

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has signed a memorandum of understanding with ‘Creative 971,’ in a bid to support e-commerce with a focus on small and medium businesses wishing to operate in the country. 

According to the agreement, ‘Creative 971’ will enhance and develop the e-commerce sector in the UAE through awareness programmes for start-ups, small and medium businesses.

Additionally, it aims to raise awareness of the great opportunities provided by e-commerce, and support businesses to continue their activity by providing a comprehensive range of advisory services and advanced electronic payment solutions.

“This agreement is a step towards adopting non-traditional forms of incorporating businesses, by providing advanced solutions for business processes management and payment mechanisms,” said Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, TRA Director-General. “e-Payment is an important approach to enhancing market vitality and opening new avenues for commercial exchanges.”

Al Mansoori added, “The UAE is distinguished by having a highly developed infrastructure in the banking sector, in addition to the availability of several electronic and smart services as well as the wide-spread use of mobile phones and smart devices. These factors as a whole attract leading international companies to operate and manage operations from within the UAE.”

Julia Jackle, the CEO of Creative971, said, “This new established strategic collaboration with the TRA is a milestone that we are proud of.
