Fortinet and Dimension Data, a $3.8 billion leading IT solutions and services provider, today announced a global agreement whereby Dimension Data will integrate, install and provide consultancy services for Fortinet's network security solutions to enterprises worldwide. The new partnership combines an innovative and proven security platform with Dimension Data's robust and trusted integration capabilities, which will decrease clients' time- and cost-to-market in creating secure infrastructures.
This agreement with Dimension Data, operating in 47 countries across five continents, marks Fortinet's deepest and broadest global systems integrator partnership. Fortinet's proven technology, research and development capabilities and market leadership in UTM, when combined with Dimension Data's global capabilities in consulting, integration and support, will enable Dimension Data to continue to deliver innovative and cost-effective security solutions to the market.
According to IDC, the UTM appliance market was worth $1.2B in 2007 and is projected to have a compound annual growth rate of 26 percent between 2007 and 2011 – growing faster than any other segment of the security appliance market.
According to Neil Campbell, Managing Director, Global Security Line of Business at Dimension Data: “We are seeing this growth trend among our large global client base as integrated security appliances address key frustrations experienced by users of point security products or single-function appliances. Many enterprise clients are migrating from firewall-only platforms to integrated security offerings combining multiple applications and services in an effort to enhance and improve overall security and performance while reducing cost and complexity.”
Steve Joubert, Group Executive Global Solutions of Dimension Data said, “Two factors made it a clear decision for us to partner with Fortinet. The company has developed a strong reputation and market leadership for its security platform and breadth of products that can meet the varied needs of enterprises, service providers and carriers. This, together with our proven track record of providing high quality, cost-effective network services means the partnership is good for both companies and our clients across the globe.”
Already working with 74% of the Global Fortune 100 and 60% of the Global Fortune 500, Dimension Data brings to the partnership knowledge, understanding, trust and experience in creating secure infrastructures in global markets.
“We are extremely pleased to share the global network security stage with Dimension Data,” said Ken Xie, president, founder and CEO of Fortinet. “As we continue our penetration as a world-class network security provider, it's imperative that we work with highly respected and trusted partners who maintain a strong global footprint as Dimension Data does. We believe clients worldwide will gain an extra measure of confidence in building their security infrastructure through our partnership.”
