The application performance infrastructure provider said it undertook the rebranding to better reflect the functions of its various products.
The only product not to be renamed was SteelHead, changed from Steelhead.
Riverbed said the new consistent naming framework reinforces how the products work together to deliver application and data performance.
Kate Hutchison, Chief Marketing Officer, Riverbed, said, “We’re now updating our product brand names to better communicate what our products do and reinforce how they are part of an integrated platform that ensures applications perform as expected and data is always available when needed.”
The new names build off the company’s flagship product, Steelhead. All incorporate ‘Steel’ into the title. Granite, the branch office converged infrastructure solution, has been renamed ‘SteelFusion’. The virtual application delivery controller Stingray has been renamed ‘SteelApp’. Whitewater, the scalable cloud storage appliance, is now called ‘SteelStore’. OPNET, Cascade and NEOP, the performange management suites, are now all named ‘SteelCentral’. FlyScript, the open APIs and developer tools to customise and automate application performance infrastructure, has been renamed ‘SteelScript’.
Riverbed’s new product brand names are now live on the company’s website. Customers can expect to see the user interfaces of products reflect the rebrand in the coming months.
