Redington Gulf prepares for growth

In addition, Redington Gulf is also anticipating an increase in PC shipments to the Middle East by 30% in 2010 as compared to 19 per cent globally. Eyeing the growing strength of the regional market, the distributor has reaffirmed its commitment to over 4,000 partners in the Middle East during the recently held Redington Channel Awards 2010, at the Godolphin Ballroom of the Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai.

The top honour at the event was bagged by Carrefour as the “Most Valuable Partner of the Year”, which indicates that the retail segment is amongst the most active in the region.

Other channel partners honoured were YUSUF Ahmed Al Ghanim & Sons (Outstanding Partner of the Year), Silicone World Comp and Seenen Info Tech (Emerging Partners of the Year), Alpha Data Processing – Dubai (Corporate Partner of the Year), Achiever Computers LLC (SMB Partner of the Year), and Jacky’s Electronics (Retail Partner of the Year).

In addition, Redington Gulf recognised some partners who work with its IT Value Distribution and IT Volume businesses. Furthermore, the distributor also felicitated 20 of its vendors including Acer, Avaya, Canon, Dell, HP, Imation, Lenovo, Packard Bell, Samsung, SanDisk, Toshiba, Western Digital and others.

“The regional IT market continues to exceed our expectations, and remains as profitable and active as before despite the crisis. However, those with the most outstanding, yet simple and user-friendly products that offer the best value for money will emerge as leaders in this highly dynamic market,” says Raj Shankar, MD, Redington Gulf. “In addition to partnering with the best global IT brands, we continue to invest into programs and initiatives that will help our channel partners enhance customer service, as we believe that excelling in this area can further drive our own and all our stakeholders’ success.”

As part of its commitment to the region and aims to deliver more value to partners and vendors, Redington Gulf has recently made a major investment in a state-of-the-art automated distribution centre in Jebel Ali, Dubai, UAE. Spanning a total area of 100,000 square feet, the facility consolidates the company’s logistics operations in the MEA region under one umbrella.

Furthermore, the company also recently introduced the Partner Connect programme for VARs, and the Elite Club for all channel partners across the region. Developed with the “retain, reward and recognise” ethos, these initiatives aim to strengthen Redington Gulf’s ties with its channel partners by providing them with the best business propositions.

“On behalf of the entire Redington Gulf team, I would like to congratulate the winners of this year’s Awards. The superior level of expertise they have demonstrated has helped many businesses in the region to explore and address their needs, which in turn holds tremendous potential to drive the region’s economy to greater heights. In line with this, we remain committed to helping our partners fulfil their limitless potential by providing them with the necessary support to deliver world-class solutions and services to customers,” concludes Shankar.
