CNME Editor Mark Forker sat down with Mandar Patil, Founding Member and SVP – Global Sales and Customer Success at Cyble, to find out more in terms of its cybersecurity advocacy, which is embedded in threat intelligence during a candid exchange at GITEX Global 2024.

Mandar Patil is widely regarded by many of his peers as an outstanding cybersecurity leader and innovator.

Patil has worked for Paladion Network, HPE and IBM during his career, before he embarked upon a new adventure as a founding member of cybersecurity company Cyble.

The company has been labelled as the fastest-growing AI-powered cybersecurity business in the world.

Their mission statement as a company is built upon actionable threat intelligence – and Cyble have branded themselves as the ‘undisputed leader in threat intelligence’.

Focusing on gathering intelligence from the deep, dark, and surface web, Cyble has quickly established itself as a pioneer in the cybersecurity space.

The AI-powered cybersecurity company has received glowing recognition from highly esteemed and respected industry analysts such as Forrester, Gartner, Frost & Sullivan, and Forbes for its cutting-edge threat research.

With a team of over 300 members, Cyble boasts strong credibility in dissecting threats within dark web and cybercrime marketplaces, supporting some of the largest companies across various verticals.

In a candid interview with tahawultech.com during GITEX 2024, Patil explained how the company’s business model was all about ‘threat intelligence’.

“We’re a SaaS platform, and we specialise in global threat intelligence. Our business model is built on two key foundational elements, and that is detection and prevention. Since 2017, every player in the cybersecurity ecosystem is focusing on detection, detection and detection. However, in order to really have an effective detection strategy then you need to have threat intelligence infused into that in order to detect better, and if you can detect better then you can mitigate the damage caused if your systems are infiltrated,” said Patil.

Patil said that across the cybersecurity ecosystem enterprises are spending vast amounts of capital on cutting-edge technologies that gives their CISOs visibility on what’s happening inside their network, but outside of that, Patil said organisations are blind.

“CISOs obviously need full visibility on what’s happening inside the network, but they are blind after the firewall. They have no idea what is happening outside of their organisation. So, whilst they may have cutting-edge technologies working to their optimum levels, they still have no idea what is going on outside of your network – and that is obviously a huge problem. We bring the entire visibility required from an ‘out to in’ perspective. The growing problem of Deep Fakes has been well-documented, and they have become a huge issue on a global scale, but we’ve launched some Deep Fake technology as part of our efforts to combat this challenge – and the response thus far from the market has been good,” said Patil.

Patil added that the lack of visibility was crippling many enterprises from a financial perspective, and reiterated how its unique approach in terms of its threat intelligence advocacy was a key market differentiator for the company.

“Many enterprises really struggle to gain a timely, holistic and actionable understanding of when their intellectual property, customer records, or other sensitive information have been leaked online, or is up for sale in cybercrime and Darkweb markets. That chronic lack of visibility puts the organisation at an increased risk of financial loss, regulatory action, lost consumer, and investor confidence. Our message to enterprise is quite simple, we want to be your partner for providing you with early threat intelligence in real-time that can ultimately equip your organisation with the solutions, services, and tools needed to be in a position to be able to respond to a cyberattack. Our threat intelligence is a big market differentiator for us, and is why we are recognised as the fastest-growing AI-powered cybersecurity company in the world,” concluded Patil.
