Technology themes such as mobility, cloud computing, and business analytics will top the agenda when SAP customers, experts, and senior executives meet in Dubai this month for the annual SAP User Group – Middle East & North Africa (SUG-MENA) conference.
The conference, on 30 May – 1 June, comes at a time when innovation is high on the priority list for regional CIOs; in an EMEA-wide SAP study of decision makers over half of the companies surveyed believe that they would get greater business value if more was spent on IT innovation. To sustain this growth in demand for best in class technology SAP last year certified more than 600 new consultants to support customers in the Middle East.
“The SUG-MENA conference provides the collaborative workspace for customers to educate, network and influence and a platform to achieve the group’s mission; to influence the product strategy, development and services of SAP,” said Salem Al Angari, President of SUG-MENA.
“In the first quarter of this year, 44 percent of our revenue was derived from business analytics, which reflects the growing desire of business leaders across the region to adopt new innovative technologies that ensure their IT systems deliver more visibility and value to all stakeholders and allow for more informed real time decision making,” said Sam Alkharrat, Managing Director, SAP MENA.
“The SUG-MENA conference provides the ideal platform for SAP to hear directly from our customers and support SAP’s strategic planning and business solution offerings for the benefit of growth and development of companies across the Middle East,” continued Alkharrat.
The three-day conference will provide a platform for senior Middle East IT executives from a wide range of industries to discuss how software solutions can help them proactively adapt to the region’s rapidly evolving economic landscape and support long-term business sustainability. This year SAP will also extend an invitation to prospects as well as customers and host a special forum on Business Analytics & Technology on the third day only of the SUG-MENA annual conference to support the increasing regional market interest and demand.
SUG-MENA conferences strive to provide rich and diverse content, with the aim of capturing the interests of SAP users, and incorporating suggestions and recommendations from attending members. It offers an ideal educational opportunity for SAP customers to attend demos, specific presentations, and interact with SAP experts on a one-to-one basis. A key success of user group events is the attendance and active involvement of members, with more than 20 SAP senior C-level executives attending an exclusive exchange meeting on the second day of the conference SUG-MENA continues to play an important role in influencing SAP’s agenda in the region.
