Hosted in Dubai, the session formed part of Redington’s initiatives to leverage the expected growth of the global Ethernet switching market into a US$16.3billion industry in 2010.
The full day training covered 14 modules, which were delivered by HP ProCurve experts, thereby enabling the attendees to become ASP certified. Building on the ‘Big Connect’ concept, Redington Value is also planning to launch ‘The Big Connect Café’ across the region, which is a more personal approach to understanding channel partners networking requirements with respect to HP ProCurve.
“Amidst the outstanding prospects we see in the regional Ethernet switching industry, The Big Connect seminar has allowed us to round up key decision makers that represent our most important HP ProCurve partners in an effort to further boost the market for this excellent product,” said Ramkumar B, GM, Value Business, Redington Gulf.
“Furthermore, we were also able to impart valuable sales and technical training, which can further establish HP ProCurve as the networking vendor of choice in the region. This recent undertaking has once again demonstrated our commitment to addressing our channel partners networking needs, and we are confident that such initiatives will help position HP ProCurve in an advantageous position in the channel across the MENA region.”
Redington Value has been an established HP ProCurve partner for five years and is currently the largest distributor for the vendor in the Middle East. Driven by the positive response to ‘The Big Connect’, company officials are planning to roll out a series of roadshows under the same theme across the region, given the distributors’ strength in 18 markets and with a network of over 4,200 channel partners.
“The region’s largest economies have shown considerable focus on information technology this year as evident in their increased IT budgets, which makes it all the more important for us to enable our partners and resellers to provide excellent services to customers from across the region. Leveraging the success of our Big Connect events, we are now gearing up for the second phase of this initiative, which will essentially involve more intensive sales and technical training sessions specifically designed for the regional market,” concluded Ramkumar.
Redington Value, the value-added distribution division of Redington Gulf, a leading IT distributor in the Middle East and Africa, has recently organised a vendor-specific training seminar called ?The Big Connect Training? to guide local and regional partners on how to become certified Accredited Sales Professionals (ASPs) for HP ProCurve networking solutions.
