Innovation is alive and well, if the entries to Network World Middle East’s first annual awards are anything to go by. The nominations that have been pouring in from a wide range of industry segments since we announced the awards point to one basic fact – downturn in the global economy has not deterred the companies in the region from deploying technology to meet business needs, boost productivity, cut costs and more importantly, make their companies more competitive.
The annual awards have already created a strong buzz in the Middle East’s enterprise IT community, and we are fielding numerous calls and emails inquiring about their mechanics. Here is a run-down of the awards process and how do we plan to reward both users and vendors for excellence, as we enter the final stretch.
We will evaluate submissions based on the business case, technology choice, and costs and benefits. We want to know how your technology deployment met with business goals, and how the technology choices you have made contributed to the organization’s bottomline. And remember, the size of your project isn’t important; it is what you are doing with it is what matters.
As part of the pairing-down process, we have assembled an impressive panel of screening judges from our industry to select the winners in each category. Though it’s a tough job trying to rank the efforts of one IT group over another, we feel it’s worth the effort. Given the April 27 time frame of our awards, we are already quite far down the road in this process. (The deadline for submitting entries is April 1st). If you feel your organization has demonstrated innovation in the deployment of technology and stands out among others, we invite you to visit our awards website (http://www.cpilive.net/events/networkworldmeawards/Default.aspx ) to nominate.
