D-Link introduced the company’s latest wireless access point, the D-Link DAP-2590 AirPremier N Dual Band PoE Access Point with Plenum-rated Chassis, which is able to stream high definition (HD) files while ensuring the efficient management of complex applications.
The wireless access point, D-Link DAP-2590, is the latest addition to D-Link’s AirPremier N Series Dual-Band Access Points and provides a secure and manageable solution for deploying wireless local area networks (WLANs). It delivers powerful wireless networking capabilities with flexible options that offer high level of accessibility. DAP-2590 enables users to stream high definition (HD) files, and provides efficient management of complex applications with added security, mobility, and manageability. Equipped with selectable dual-band coverage, this access point is able to support devices within the 2.4GHz or 5GHz frequency band, and all current 802.11 wireless networking standards, including 802.11a/b/g and the latest generation draft n. Designed for environments such as medium to large businesses and campuses, the DAP-2590 is the first business-class access point in
D-Link’s AirPremier N series. The D-Link DAP-2590 access point offers three detachable antennas and plenum-rated metal chassis for added flexibility to provide more application-oriented options and adherence to fire safety code on placement in airways. Power over Ethernet (PoE) allows the access point to connect with a switch over a single CAT 5 cable for convenience in installation.
“This access point delivers extensive coverage range and transfers speeds of up to 300Mbps, and includes Wi-Fi Multimedia quality of service (WMM QoS) and load balancing for use with applications such as voice, video, and audio to provide smooth performance”, says Harrison Albert, Regional Sales Director at D-Link Middle East. “Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) facilitates the easy transfer of management information between network devices, and multiple SSIDs provide support for multiple WLANs, which can be customized specifically.
