Avaya, which promotes itself as a software company, is trimming back even more on its line of hardware with the elimination of wireless headsets to go with its unified communications infrastructure.
The company says it will no longer sell the headsets that it bought from Plantronics and slapped an Avaya label on them.
Instead Avaya will recommend to customers that they purchase headsets made by other vendors whose gear meets certifications set by its DevConnect program for partners. Plantronics is the only headset provider to gain a DevConnect platinum level status.
The affected headsets are Avaya's AWH-55+, AWH75N, AH450/A, AH450/N, AH450, AW450/N and AH460/N. Plantronics says it will continue to sell these models under its own label and model numbering system.
