NEC Display Solutions has launched the new NEC MultiSync LCD2490WUXi², which features a 24-inch widescreen format. With its IPS panel, the LCD is especially well-suited for demanding applications in graphics design, image and video processing or desktop publishing as well as for multi-monitor solutions in the finance industry.
Superb colour reproduction is achieved by an improved black level, a higher contrast ratio as well as digital uniformity control (ColorComp). Users wanting to make the transition from conventional 20-inch or 21-inch screens to larger format displays will be particularly impressed by the outstanding technical features of the NEC MultiSync LCD2490WUXi² and its excellent cost-performance ratio.
“The new MultiSync LCD2490WUXi² joins our existing line of LCDs for professionals. The LCD2490WUXi² is targeted at graphics professionals requiring the optimum colour accuracy and extensive calibration control in the widescreen format,” explained Ian Gobey, the General Manager for NEC Displays in the Middle East. “The increasingly popular widescreen format gives creative professionals in graphic arts, printing, video editing, digital photography, and other fields a long-awaited alternative to the software calibration products on the market.
According to Gobey, with the LCD2490WUXi², the monitors themselves are calibrated rather than the computer’s graphics board as is the case with software calibration. "This ensures no colour tones are lost in the calibration process and results in more accurate on-screen colour," he added. Professionals working within the creative sectors will especially appreciate the new NEC MultiSync LCD2490WUXi².
The LCD’s 24-inch widescreen display employing class-leading IPS LCD technology ensures minimal colour shift, higher colour stability and outstanding black level, whilst its X-Light Pro feature guarantees uniformity of colour and brightness. Creative applications requiring complex attention to detail will particularly appreciate the improved 1,000:1 contrast ratio and the professional resolution of 1920×1200 of the NEC MultiSync LCD2490WUXi².
Ergonomics and design are also key features of the new NEC MultiSync LCD2490WUXi². The elegant cabinet with its 18 mm narrow bezel can be height adjusted by up to 150 mm according to individual requirements, and also offers the possibility of viewing content in either landscape or portrait modes. Automatic control of the display’s brightness via the AmbiBright light sensor not only improves the monitor’s visual ergonomics, but also reduces its energy consumption. The diverse interfaces (VGA, DVI-I and DVI-D) enable universal connectivity.
