Mindware, a leading IT distributor in the Middle East, and Wyse Technology, the global leader in thin computing, announces the launch of ‘Wyse Viance’ – a range of high performance desktop appliances during ‘GITEX 2008’. The new range, which will be introduced for the first time in the Middle East, is designed to maximise user experience and reduce administration across a virtualised infrastructure. Trade visitors will have the opportunity to view the ‘Wyse Viance’ range along with a wide array of top-of-the-line products from various international brands in Mindware’s booth, which is located at Hall 4, stand D4-11 of the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Specifically created for Citrix XenDesktop and with knowledge workers in mind, ‘Wyse Viance’ immediately connects to the Citrix XenDesktop server, and is the only desktop appliance that can deliver rich multimedia in a XenDesktop session via its built-in Wyse TCX virtualisation software. As the first appliance to meet the specifications of the Citrix Ready Desktop Appliance program, which is required for maximum integration with Citrix XenDesktop, ‘Wyse Viance’ provides users simple and fast access to their virtualised desktops, applications of choice and documents without compromising data security or performance.
“We are thrilled to be the distributor to launch the Wyse enterprise-class desktop appliances for Citrix XenDesktop to the Middle East market, given the growing demand for solutions, which minimise initial day-to-day administration and ongoing desktop support among regional organisations,” says Sanjeev Menon, Product Manager – Wyse Technology, Mindware. “The presence of a great selection of innovative and top-of-the-line products in our stand, including this new offering from Wyse, is a testament to the expansion of our product portfolio and our strong relationship with leading IT manufacturers. Our partnerships with these market leaders have been driving our own growth in the region, and we intend to acquire more alliances of this kind during this exhibition.”
Designed to provide end-to-end compatibility and functionality while incorporating ‘green’ technologies, ‘Wyse Viance’ draws a mere 13.2 watts of power, thereby giving a far smaller carbon footprint than a typical business desktop PC. Furthermore, the products require no remote management, and offer a clean, simple user interface that keeps the user productive by presenting only the information a user needs to authenticate to their XenDesktop session and the session itself. Personnel with in-depth knowledge of the products will be present at the Mindware booth to help visitors find out more about the main benefits and excellent ‘green’ features of ‘Wyse Viance’.
“Wyse's new appliances, working in concert with the delivery capabilities of Citrix XenDesktop, result in a virtual desktop that offers the best user experience, simplest administration, lowest cost of ownership, as well as a significantly lower environmental impact. The launch of this innovative new product during GITEX, which was facilitated by Mindware as our strategic partner in the region, is in line with our aims to extend the benefits of our ‘green’ solutions outside of the data centre, beyond task workers and on to the desktops of more demanding knowledge workers,” concluded David Angwin, Director of Marketing, EMEA – Wyse Technology.
In addition to ‘Wyse Viance’, Mindware will also highlight Dell products at its stand during its ‘GITEX’ participation. Leveraging its extensive geographical reach and regional expertise, Mindware has successfully forged strategic partnerships with the world’s leading manufacturers. The company recorded USD 200 million in revenues in 2007, reaffirming its growing market dominance, and is currently providing best-of-breed solutions to major regional markets. Company officials have revealed that Mindware’s stronger presence at this year’s event is part of its efforts to achieve the 20 per cent growth they have set for 2008.
