Microsoft unveils Windows 10 devices in the UAE

 

microsoftMicrosoft Gulf has launched the Surface Pro 4, Lumia 950 and 950 XL devices, and all run on the new Windows 10 OS. Designed to offer users the best of Windows 10 combined with powerful and performance driven technology, the new devices include innovative features including fast and secure login with Windows Hello; improved touch and pen experiences on Surface; and Continuum for phones, which enables the new Lumia 950 and 950 XL phones to work like PCs.

“We designed Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL for people who want the most productive smartphones running the most productive operating system. People like mobile professionals who want a premium phone that can work like a PC; now have the perfect partner for their Windows 10 devices in Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. With full Windows 10 and features like Continuum for phone, it’s easy to do more than ever from your phone whether you’re in the office, at home or on the road,” he added.

At only 8.4 mm thin, Surface Pro 4 features a 12.3-inch PixelSense Display and 6th Generation Intel Core m, Core i5, and Core i7 processors, enabling everyone from students to professionals to get more done on the go. The device is not only 30 percent more powerful than its predecessor but also quieter, runs cooler, and is even more efficient with up to nine hours of battery life. The new Surface Pro 4 Type Cover takes Surface Pro 4 from tablet to laptop in an instant and features a redesigned mechanical keyboard with optimal key spacing for fast and fluid typing. Backwards compatible with Surface Pro 3, the new Surface Pro 4 Type Cover comes with an optional fingerprint reader, bringing the convenience and enterprise-grade security of Windows Hello to existing customers, said the company. The redesigned Surface Pen packs 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity, allowing users to write, draw and mark documents with precision ink on one end and an eraser on the other.

Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are the first Lumia phones to come pre-loaded with Windows 10 – delivering on the company’s promise of one familiar and consistent experience that transitions seamlessly across Windows devices from key apps such as Office built-in to access to files via OneDrive and the cloud.

Both Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL feature Continuum for phones, enhanced by the optional Microsoft Display Dock accessory. This Windows 10 feature allows people to use their phone like a PC by connecting it to a monitor and transforming it for larger-screen entertainment, or adding a keyboard and mouse to work like a PC with Windows 10 apps like Microsoft Office, while simultaneously taking calls or performing other tasks. Both devices feature a QuadHD AMOLED display featuring up to 564ppi.

And Microsoft’s PureView technology is built into the cameras of both devices, boasting a 20MP sensor and triple LED natural flash.

In UAE, customers can purchase Lumia devices across all stores, starting at an estimated retail price of AED 2,099 for Lumia 950, AED 2,349 for 950 XL. Accessories such as the Microsoft Display Dock can be availed at a special launch price of AED 99, and the Continuum Accessory Pack at AED 499.

Surface Pro 4 and new accessories are available for order for commercial customers only through Alpha Data and Sharaf DG as well as other Microsoft’s authorised resellers.
