The consumer electronics market is used to seeing iPods sprouting from rectangles and ovals, but plonking our player on top of a sphere is a novel one.
Lenco’s SpeakerBall docking station for iPod is a kid’s football-sized affair with the dock on top, a mini USB socket for connecting to a PC and using iTunes, an AC adaptor jack (no battery) and a 3.5mm output. The remote control is a standard piece made from plastic material.
This Lenco SpeakerBall unit has similar power to the Lenco iPod Tower, but in a much smaller form factor. The sound quality is amazing for the size and it can play music directly from iTunes via USB, as well as iPod, iPhone and other AUX-in sources. For an easy listen in the house or office, this is a passable choice.
