HTC has been signed as the hardware partner of the innovative VRZOO endangered species conservation education initiative at Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo in The Dubai Mall.
Created in partnership with Emaar Entertainment, the leisure and entertainment subsidiary of Emaar Properties, the best-in-class HTC Vive system will provide visitors a virtual way to interact with endangered animals in their habitat through live-action footage as well as through a CGI virtual experience.
Nikitas Glykas, President, HTC MEA, said, “HTC Vive is by far the best virtual reality partner for initiatives such as the VRZOO, and we believe that the potential for applications in education, entertainment, and even in specific industry verticals are limitless. It has been an honour to partner with Emaar Entertainment and Wevr on this campaign, and we look forward to bringing many more such experiences to the region in partnership with other industry leaders.”
The HTC Vive is available in the UAE at Axiom Telecom, Geekay Games, Sharaf DG and Virgin Megastore outlets for AED 3,299. The solution includes the virtual reality headset and two handheld controllers and also two HTC exclusive, exciting and globally acclaimed VR games – The Gallery: Call of Starseed and Zombie Training Simulator.
