The award is the second major award this year for Despec, evidence of its company-wide commitment to quality and customer service – Despec won the Best Partner Excellence Programme of the Year (Distribution) award at the inaugural Reseller Middle East awards. "Our success continues because we value both customers and vendors," Korath continues. "Their contribution is critical to our growth and we cherish our relationships in the channel."
Despec MERA has operations in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon and East Africa (Kenya and Tanzania). At a time when much of the IT channel has been contracting, Despec MERA has invested in growth and now employees over 80 people across the MERA region. Apart from HP (printer supplies and calculators), its partners include Verbatim, Imation, Tally-Genicom (Printronix), Canon, Wacom, IBM, Sony, Samsung, Lexmark and Double A. Across the parent company Despec International has subsidiarie throughout Europe, Middle East, Africa and Turkey and employs over 250 employees and has a group turnover of over US$500m.
Dubai-based Despec was recently recognised as the HP distributor of the year for 2010 at the HP Middle East channel awards. The award caps a 15-year relationship between the two companies and is a recognition of the impact Despec has had in the Middle East channel where distributes HP supplies.
