Following a nomination by the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO), Gulf Air, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national carrier, has recently taken on the post of MENA representative on the SITA Council, with Dr. Jassim Haji, Gulf Air’s Director of Information Technology, occupying that seat.
Commenting on the airline’s latest achievement, Gulf Air’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Maher Salman AlMusallam said, “It’s an honour for Gulf Air to occupy a seat with the foremost IT and communications representative body for the air transport industry, and I would like to express my deepest gratitude to AACO for nominating Gulf Air and to SITA’s members for accepting it. Gulf Air is proud to be given this opportunity to participate in the SITA Council and play a role in representing our region on a global platform. SITA plays a critical role in the aviation industry operations and it is our pleasure to support its endeavors.”

Gulf Air has pioneered various IT initiatives and innovations in the region, including Private Cloud Computing, Big Data, ISO certifications, and has won a total of twelve Information Technology awards over the past three years.
