Gigamon comes to GITEX this year with their new GigaSECURE product on offer. GigaSECURE is the industry’s first security delivery platform. “One of the key things that we are seeing at GITEX this year,” says Trevor Dearing, EMEA Markting Manager, “is really the growth of awareness in the issues around security.” If you look at a lot of the booths, Dearing points out, there are a lot of new exciting security analytics and forensics. One of the things with that type of technology is that it is not easy to implement it all at the same time. “What we are doing is to make it much easier – we makes these things work much better.”
Gigamon’s aim is to streamline a sometimes jumbled landscape. “GigaSecure allows the user to certain things once, which means you don’t have to do it for all of your other devices,” says Dearing. The technology allows for the detection of malware and the lateral movement of malware, detection of exfiltration activity, post incident forensics, as well as other security initiatives. “The other piece is that we can then generate net flow. We can generate unsampled net flow, and from a security perspective, that means that you can get the full picture.”
“GITEX is an important showcase for us,” says Dearing. “It is one of the largest meetings of its kind, and it is important for us to be a part of that.” Dearing points out that is a prime platform to connect with partners and customers, and assures us that we will be seeing Gigamon year after year at GITEX.
