Dubai Computer Group (DCG) has conducted its initial board meeting to nominate the office bearers, after having an election last month, a first since its inception in 2007.
The election process was hosted by Suchit Kumar and was officially observed by Manoj Kisani and Ashu Udani. Each member of DCG casted their vote for one of the 20 contestants for the committee last month. Recently, each committee member from the 12 officially elected was assigned different roles.
The newly elected president of DCG, Shailendra Rughwani said, “We have assigned different committees to cater to different purpose. We have a committee to focus on Events and their aim will be to plan and organise different events in 2014. Other committee formed is the business development committee and Legal Affairs Committee. Business Development Committee will focus on increasing the member base and getting sponsorships and the Legal affairs committee will look after any issues in the market. All the board members will actively take part in these committees.”
The board also formed an advisory panel and working committee to support the board. Rakesh Bohra, Hesham Tantawi and Manoj Kisani shall be on advisory panel and Suchit Kumar, Mohd Jabber, Yunus Hasan and Ashu Udani will be part of the working committee
Rughwani thanked all members for the overwhelming response and participation of new members to the board. He also thanked the founding members for their contribution in helping shape DCG and bringing it to its present strength and ensured 2014 DCG would do the best in promoting events and activities to benefit all members.
Khalaf Al Otaiba, Al Otaiba Group of Companies was elected by all board members as the Chairman. While Shailendra Rughwani, Experts Computer was elected as the President, Dharmendra Sawlani, Smile Computers was chosen as the General Secretary. Sanjay Bansal, Intex Technologies was nominated as the Treasurer.
