Regional distributor ComGuard is putting the spotlight on IoT and Big Data solutions at GITEX this year.
Ajay Singh Chauhan, CEO, ComGuard, says, “We see that these two technologies will undergo a paradigm shift in the coming years. As a group, we have decided that these are the areas in which we will invest in.”
In this regard, the company has created two divisions, one is an independent company, which is focusing on services of Big Data. And the second one is a division within the firm called, Emerging Technologies, with a focus on converging technologies such as IoT, storage and Big Data.
“We have brought in business leaders in both these areas to help in this initiatives. As ComGuard, we are seeing how we can consolidate our portfolio on the security side and how we can get more into data centre and building up of private clouds. We were looking for new software or hardware vendors.”
Over the last couple of months, the company has signed on around eight to 10 vendors.
Going forward, the company believes the channel partners need to identify newer areas of opportunities.
“However, it will also depend upon how the talent is developed in those areas. This is a key concern today in the market, however we have identified this and developed key training initiatives which I believe is giving us an edge in the market.”
Training is a key element of the distributor’s strategy in the region.
