Citrix recently announced the immediate availability of Citrix CloudGateway 2, featuring its new MDX mobile experience technology.
According to the company, the addition of MDX gives CloudGateway a rich set of mobile app technologies that enable centralised management, security and control over native iOS, Android and HTML 5 apps across more than two billion mobile devices.
The new CloudGateway release also adds integration with Citrix ShareFile, the company’s cloud-based file sharing and sync service, it was reported.
With these new additions, CloudGateway becomes the first product in the industry to offer customers a single unified control point for all mobile, web, SaaS and Windows apps and data, across any mix of corporate and personal devices, Citrix claims.
The company also announced plans to add MDX support to its popular Citrix Ready program, making it easy for developers and IT departments to validate their native mobile apps for use with CloudGateway.

Citrix CloudGateway Enterprise or Express editions product and support can be purchased through an approved Citrix Solution Provider. Solution providers are Citrix solution advisors, system integrators and independent software vendors who sell Citrix products as well as their own products and services to end users. Citrix CloudGateway can be deployed via the company’s Citrix NetScaler Platform which is a hardware appliance or as a virtual machine depending on the requirements and environments. The Citrix NetScaler solution will be well suited for applications requiring a hardened appliance with ports for network separation and hardware accelerated SSL (Secure Socket Layer) which is a requirement for any web based portal or application storefront, representatives said. The latter is especially important in environments with a large number of users who demand exceptional application user experience delivered to multiple mobile devices, they added.
