Belkin has introduced the Thunderbolt 2 Express Dock HD, a powerful docking solution for both Mac and PC computers.
The dock include eight ports – one for HDMI, three for USB 3.0 with charging support in all ports, one for gigabit Ethernet, two for audio out with mic support in one, and one for AC/DC power input. The device lets one connect eight separate devices and four additional Thunderbolt devices using a daisy-chain setup.
Two thunderbolt ports support high-speed networking at 20Gbps bandwidth – which is two times faster than Thunderbolt, four times faster than USB 3.0 and up to 25 times faster than FireWire® 800.
The new Express Dock HD is compatible with Thunderbolt 2 and backward-compatible with all Thunderbolt devices – which include laptops/ultrabooks and desktops with Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 ports. It supports dual displays with 4K cinema resolution in each. At least one display has to be Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 technology-ready.
“Belkin’s Thunderbolt 2 Express Dock HD is an all-in-one solution that fully takes advantage of the Thunderbolt technology and creates endless possibilities for your setup,” said Amanulla Khan, Director Sales, Belkin. “Not only does it offer exceptional performance and maximum transfer speeds for creating and editing, but it also creates a more efficient work environment.”
“As consumer preference for a mobile and versatile workspace increases, Thunderbolt 2 continues to deliver unparalleled performance, flexibility and simplicity to personal computing,” added Khan. “Products like Belkin’s Thunderbolt 2 Express Dock HD help highlight what Thunderbolt 2 makes possible.”
The high-definition dock comes with a meter-long Thunderbolt cable. The dock can be easily plugged to any computer with a Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 port that run on Mac OS X v10.9 or later, or Windows 7, 8 or later.
