The distributor emerged as the winner at the annual Distree XXL EMEA Channel Academy event held in Monaco. Asbis ME was pitted against Aptec Group, FDC, Almasa and Redington Gulf.
Hesham Tantawi, VP at Asbis Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) region, says the company is delighted at winning the Middle East and North Africa Distributor of the Year for 2011 at the EMEA Channel Academy. Tantawi attributes the strong showing to the efforts the company has made in developing remote markets in the MENA belt. “We would like to thank all our partners across the region that believed in our capabilities and expertise and chose Asbis as their value-add distributor,” he says. “This award is a significant recognition of the value we are bringing in for our business channel partners and customers.
He adds that this year the company is focusing on building and developing its retail business and to cement its local presence in the UAE. “We have in 2010 grown our components business and we will be adding more vendors in the security and back-up software space,” he says.
Tantawi points out that this win gives the company the lift it needs so early in the year. He adds that Asbis will be participating at this year’s Distree retail Event in Fujairah.
