The Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC), the government entity responsible for the development of the local ICT sector, has recently organised a workshop on the ‘Digital Government Architecture Governance’ with the participation of 30 Abu Dhabi-based government entities.
During the workshop ADSIC conducted specialised analysis to develop a comprehensive outlook on the current formation of future digital systems and initiatives, while streamlining ICT activities and ensuring their compliance with the overarching objectives and strategies of Abu Dhabi’s e-government.
ADSIC also identified opportunities for improvement in order to provide innovative e-services, control spending and present the costs of ICT on the Abu Dhabi government level and across various entities.
According to the firm, this can be done by limiting duplicated projects and purchases, assessing the design of current tech systems and providing suggestions to improve efficiency and support the operations of its strategic partners from the government sector.
Abdul Kareem Al Raeesi, executive director, Strategic Planning, ADSIC said, “The importance of this initiative stems from the comprehensive outlook it offers into ICT investments and its role in supporting government integration efforts, within the framework of Digital Government Architecture. This is light of a methodology and governance platform which brings decision makers and digital transformation strategists together, while strengthening and supporting the operations of entities to achieve present and future digital objectives.”
Al Reesi also added that cooperation between government entities will be reinforced in the ICT domain by providing a platform to exchange knowledge and expertise.
