Clean energy solutions take centre stage at DEWA’s WETEX, Dubai Solar Show

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has invited companies and organisations working in energy, renewable energy, water, the environment, to participate and display their products and services at the 20th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) and the third Dubai Solar Show.

According to DEWA, companies in the mentioned fields can benefit from the promising opportunities in these offered by the UAE and the region, and review key projects and investments that will be announced at the two exhibitions, which will be held from 23-25 October 2018, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The exhibitions will be held under the umbrella of Green Week, which includes various environmental activities and events to raise awareness about the importance of conserving energy resources and promoting sustainable development and green economy in Dubai.

“For the 20th consecutive year, DEWA organises WETEX under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of DEWA,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, Founder and Chairman of WETEX.

“The exhibition has established itself as the largest and most important specialised exhibition in the region in water, energy, and the environment. It has become a major global event and a key platform that brings together exhibitors, visitors, experts, specialists, decision-makers, and investors in these vital sectors. It is an opportunity to make use of the great investment opportunities as well as meet with experts and decision makers from all over the world.”

Both the 19th WETEX and the 2nd Dubai Solar Show, in October 2017, were remarkable successes among exhibitors, visitors, participants from around the world. The two exhibitions attracted over 31,000 visitors. Over 2,000 exhibitors from 50 countries took part in WETEX 2017, which covered an area of 70,000 square metres and had 75 sponsors. It The 2nd Dubai Solar Show attracted 108 exhibitors from 11 countries as well as 10 sponsors.

“WETEX and the Dubai Solar Show offer an opportunity to review the latest solutions and smart technologies in traditional and renewable energy, water, sustainability and conservation. The two exhibitions are a platform for companies and organisations working in these sectors to promote their products and services and meet with officials and investors from around the world to make deals, build partnerships, review the latest technologies in these vital sectors, and learn about market needs and the most prominent current and future projects in the region,” added Al Tayer.
