Mohan Kandasamy, Vice President of Sales for EMEA, at Ekahau, spoke to tahawultech.com during GITEX 2024, to discuss data-centric solutions, AI integration, and the importance of its partnership with HP in terms of driving next-generation connectivity.
At GITEX, Mohan Kandasamy, shared his insights on how Ekahau leverages data analytics, AI, and emerging trends to push the boundaries of Wi-Fi design and network solutions.
Ekahau’s offerings include Wi-Fi design, planning, and network optimisation services, enabling vendors such as HP to enhance their customers’ experience. Kandasamy said: “One of our most well-known brands is Speedtest, which has more than 900 million users globally. We collect 50 billion data sets from Speedtest results worldwide, and that data is crucial to our solutions.”
Ekahau plays a vital role in ensuring network stability and performance, allowing businesses and consumers alike to benefit from seamless, optimised connectivity. Kandasamy emphasised the company’s strength in data analytics. “We’re a data company at our core, providing both consumers and businesses with data-driven solutions,” he explained.
Kandasamy explained how Ekahau and its parent company, Ookla, leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance data processing and network design. “We handle a vast amount of data, and AI is essential for defining and standardising our data reporting. Depending on customer needs, we can customise data sets and provide actionable insights.”
In terms of network design, Ekahau’s AI Pro platform is already driving efficiency and performance. “AI Pro helps network managers optimise designs, ensuring security, meeting specific requirements, and reducing costs. AI plays a critical role in sustainability by promoting efficient resource usage,” he added.
The emphasis on AI underscores the company’s commitment to innovation, but Kandasamy also acknowledged the importance of regulatory frameworks to ensure AI’s safe and ethical deployment. “We work closely with regulators worldwide, particularly in the telecom sector, to navigate legal boundaries and ensure data is handled responsibly. It’s a key part of our business, given the vast amount of data we process.”
Looking ahead, Kandasamy shared his predictions for the key trends shaping the industry by 2025, with AI being just one part of the picture. “Virtual environments and 3D modelling are set to revolutionise network design,” he said. Ekahau is already working on enabling visualisation in 3D environments, offering a highly accurate approach to network planning.
Ekahau’s partnership with HP is another major focus, especially in the Middle East. “Our collaboration with HP is deep,” Kandasamy explained. “We work in all the countries where HP operates, supporting their partner community, both pre-and post-sales.”
As Ekahau continues to evolve, the company focuses on delivering cutting-edge solutions that optimise network performance and enhance the user experience. With AI, virtual environments, and 3D modelling at the forefront of their efforts, Ekahau is poised to lead the charge in the future of network design and optimisation.
“We’re excited about the future,” Kandasamy concluded. “The developments we’re working on will shape how networks are designed and managed, making them more efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable.”
