Apple’s expected 10 September event, which will reportedly see the unveiling of the iPhone 5S and a low-cost iPhone 5C, could be the most successful Apple launch ever, an analyst has said.
Trip Chowdhry, Global Equities Research’s Managing Director, told Benzinga that he expects the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C to set a new record for Apple.
“The new iPhones will be massively successful,” he said. “This will be the most successful product launch ever in the history of Apple.”
Chowdhry has based this prediction on several factors, including his research that shows many smartphone users in India, Malaysia and Thailand buy cheaper Android phones but are more likely to buy a cheaper iPhone if one was available.
He also thinks that the ongoing patent battles between Apple and companies such as Samsung will help Apple differentiate its products from the competition.
In addition, Chowdhry has suggested that the upcoming biopic of Apple’s late co-founder, Steve Jobs, could “evoke positive emotions toward Apple and its products.”
Despite his confidence in the next iPhone, Chowdhry has criticised Apple for lack of innovation. “Innovation does no exist at Apple,” he said. “Where is Apple TV? Where is iWatch?”
