Sony, the consumer electronics brand, today announced that the new VAIO E14 Series, a 14-inch notebook with stylish new ‘wrap design’ and long battery life, is set to be rolled out across the region in May.
According to Sony representatives, the laptop is equipped with third generation Intel Core i5 and i7 CPU with AMD Radeon HD 7670M discrete GPU (VRAM: 1GB).
The light-weight VAIO E14 stands out from the crowd with its soft and subtly reassuring ‘wrap design’ and is available in five colours including white, black, pink, silver or gun metallic, the company said.
The battery life of up to 5.5 hoursis enhanced by the discreet GPUs that automatically switch off to boost battery life when less graphic-intensive tasks are being performed, representatives said. The efficient VAIO Display, energy-saving processors, and the on-board optical drive that shuts down to zero power consumption when on stand-by or sleep mode further stretch the battery’s endurance capacity, it was reported.
Featuring the new ‘Rapid Wake + Eco’ energy-saving mode, VAIO goes into an ultra-low power deep sleep, keeping data safe for up to ten days. Once the PC’s lid is opened, the laptop is up and running in seconds, with the files exactly as they were left.
The laptop is equipped with Sony’s xLOUD and Clear Phase technologies in addition to Dolby Home Theatre V4 for rich, cinema-style audio. The VAIO E14 Series includes the built in ‘Exmore for PC’ HD camera that delivers sharper details, higher contrast and rich colors, even in low light conditions.
VAIO also makes for a handy ‘any time’ charger in the absence of a quickly accessible AC socket. Users just need to plug in their phones via USB, even when the computer is switched off or in sleep mode, the company said.
Equipped with PlayMemories Home, the new software that allows users to import pictures and videos from any camera or camcorder, the notebook helps users instantly relive old memories. The unique feature includes camera direct viewing, 3D playback, external HDD direct viewing and 3D short-movie creation. One can even transfer the files to DVD or Blu-ray Disc or upload them on to social networking sites such as Facebook and YouTube.
It was announced that the new VAIO E14 Series will be available across stores in the UAE from the first week of May.
