Spectrami, a value added distributor, recently announced that it has signed an agreement with Actifio, the Protection and Availability Storage (PAS) platform company, to distribute its next-generation data management solutions across the Middle East region.
As the industry’s first storage platform to apply the benefits of virtualisation to eliminate redundant silos of IT infrastructure and data management applications, the PAS platform is realising rapid adoption by organisations across the Middle East.
Last fall, the radically simple PAS platform revitalised the North American data management and storage industry – driving the shift away from reliance on costly point tools used for backup, disaster recovery, deduplication and business continuity. To date, Actifio PAS has enabled more than 100 global organisations to reduce storage costs by 90% and network utilisation by 70% while dramatically improving data protection, business availability and the efficiency of existing storage investments, the company said.
Actifio’s PAS platform is the industry’s first storage platform optimised to manage copies of data. Actifio PAS uses virtualisation to eliminate redundant silos of IT infrastructure and data management applications to address IT’s most pressing challenges – backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, test and development, analytics, compliance and e-discovery. Actifio PAS enables the transformation of the data centre into a Service Level Agreement (SLA)-driven services organisation, while dramatically driving down costs, representatives said.
“The PAS platform will change the way copies of data are managed worldwide. It not only offers a next-generation data management solution to address the growing storage problems of end-users but also gives our channel partners an opportunity to expand their business,” said Anand Choudha, MD, Spectrami.
Actifio PAS is based on the patented Virtual Data Pipeline (VDP) technology that efficiently captures data once and reuses it for multiple applications. The VDP technology virtualises the four primitives of data management – copy, store, move, restore – allowing multiple applications to reuse a common platform and unique data set, according to Choudha. The integrated storage virtualisation enables data to be stored on any storage device, physical or cloud storage-based, driving down the cost per unit of storage. By integrating data deduplication, network and processor utilisation optimisation, Actifio provides the most efficient way to manage data growth while solving the biggest IT challenges around information protection and availability, the company said.
“Actifio helps organisations reverse their big data growth and creates a model where data is copied once and reused for multiple applications, instead of the old model of deploying an entire application and infrastructure for each business requirement,” said Actifio EMEA regional head Greg Scorziello. “As a result, Spectrami and their partner ecosystem can offer our customers a virtualised data management approach to address backup, data protection and availability challenges that will save them at least 10X in capital costs.”
In tandem with Actifio’s Global Partner Program, Spectrami will provide training, marketing and customer support to the channel partners in the Middle East region, the company announed. Spectrami’s partner program will also deliver a comprehensive partner program for a range of marketing programs designed to drive long-term partner success through innovative marketing and financial incentives, it was reported.
