Social infrastructure contracting firm ASGC has appointed its first ever chief information officer to drive the company’s digital transformation efforts.
Based in Dubai, Herbert Fuchs will help lead the company in the adoption of new technologies that will aim to value to ASGC’s partners, customers, and employees.
According to ASGC, the move is indicative of the sector’s increasing investments in technology-enabled processes.
ASGC has already completed a series of renowned projects in the city, including City Walk, Etihad Museum, Vision Tower and the Waldorf Astoria.
The firm employs over 16,000 construction specialists and workers in the UAE, including its five subsidiaries – Al Shafar Steel Engineering, Emirates Beton, Al Shafar United for Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Hard Pre-Cast Building Systems and Al Shafar Interiors.
“There is significant development in the technology sector that can help ASGC and our partners to become more streamlined in their operations, enabling all divisions of the company to become more efficient,” Fuchs said. “It is my pleasure to contribute to ASGC’s digital transformation in the years to come.”

Fuchs brings more than 25 years of experience with global corporations including GE and McDonald’s. He holds an MSc in Information Security, as well as an Executive MBA in Information and Communication Technology.
