Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the regulatory body for Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park, is all set to kick off the second edition of its Emirati Tech Boot Camp.
The event for UAE nationals will run from May 3 to June 4 at DSOA’s wholly owned Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Centre (DTEC), the largest incubational facility for tech startups and entrepreneurs in the Middle East.
Open to Emiratis across segments – students, professionals, entrepreneurs, as well as members of the public with an interest in technology – the month-long boot camp will comprise four workshops by leading industry experts, certified trainers, and successful technology entrepreneurs. Addressing the various aspects of starting a tech venture, the workshops will offer insights on ideation, preparing a business plan, digital marketing and analytics, budget planning and legalities, as well as pitching a business proposal to investors and securing funding. In addition, one of the workshops will focus on technology for non-techies.
Speaking on the boot camp, , Deputy CEO of DSOA, said: “Our first Emirati tech boot camp last year garnered great interest among the UAE national community. In line with our commitment to supporting local entrepreneurs, we have organised the second edition of the event to encourage our talented young people to unleash their creativity.”
At the end of the boot camp, a demo day will give teams of participants an opportunity to pitch their ideas to a panel of experts. DSOA will reward the winning team with potential funding and mentorship.
