HTC has unveiled its newest smartphone series, HTC U, with two new models, the HTC U Ultra 5.7-inch and the HTC U Play 5.2-inch smartphones.
The event was presided by Chialin Chang, President of Smartphone and Connected Devices Business, HTC, and regional HTC leadership.
The gorgeous new series is beautifully 3D contoured with a liquid surface that’s designed to reflect the best you. With attention to detail at the heart of this brilliant and unique design, the lustrous and symmetrical curved glass construction reflects light beautifully and the polished surface bends and blends seamlessly into the side of the phone.
With the aim of redefining the relationship between you and your smartphone, HTC introduced the HTC Sense Companion – a personal companion who is consistently learning from the user, with voice recognition capabilities. Through Artificial Intelligence, the HTC Sense Companion gets to know you through machine learning to present customised and personalised suggestions and quietly support you in your pursuit of brilliance. The HTC U Ultra features a game changing dual display which delivers this prioritised information for you without interrupting the main display.
The new devices also feature HTC BoomSound, HTC now introduces HTC USonic which uses a sonar technology headset to analyse a person’s unique inner ear to adapt to you and the noise levels around you. This adaptive audio feature enhances the way you experience sound through the delivery of clear and superior Hi-Res audio. The HTC U Ultra includes four omnidirectional mics, which capture positional sound and allow for 360-degree immersive audio recordings.
The HTC U series features the best in class cameras featuring with both main cameras featuring Optical Image Stabilization, Phase detection autofocus (PDAF), a Dual-tone LED flash and Pro Mode among others. The HTC U Ultra comes with a 12MP UltraPixel main camera and the HTC U Play features a 16MP main camera. Both devices include a 16MP selfie camera with a wide angle lens for Panorama Selfies and the option to switch to an UltraPixel™ mode for unparalleled light sensitivity.
The HTC U Ultra boasts of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, a 5.7 inch, Quad HD Super LCD 5 display with a dual display of 2.05 inch with Gorilla Glass 5 on the 64GB model and Sapphire Glass on the 128GB model. The HTC U Play is a compact 5.2 inch smartphone with Gorilla Glass which features the MediaTek Helio P10 processor.
Both devices will be available in four stunning colors: Brilliant Black, Cosmetic Pink, Ice White, and Sapphire Blue.
