Gemalto on Wednesday announced the launch of its LinqUS Mobile Wallet at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The new suite enables a range of NFC services, mobile banking, mobile payment and loyalty programmes, and integrates them into a single wallet, Gemalto said. The vendor added that the Mobile Wallet is fully integrated into the broader portfolio of mobile financial services, and can be completely customised.
“Interest in mobile financial services is accelerating due to the convenience and added user-engagement that they provide,” said Jean-Claude Deturche, Senior Vice President of Mobile Financial Services, Gemalto.
The Mobile Wallet includes a secure application framework, a dedicated mobile wallet server and connectivity with Gemalto’s secure platforms for trusted server management (TSM) and mobile payment.
Users can link to existing accounts and cards, or set up new services “easily”, Gemalto said. It also allows users to conduct all banking activities through their smartphones, as well as organise transportation, ticketing and access applications. Loyalty and couponing programmes are also enabled, as are targeted mobile marketing campaigns.
“By offering a rich suite of front-end mobile applications, through which end users can access the services delivered by our powerful servers, the Mobile Wallet sets new standards in terms of choice, flexibility and freedom to tailor solutions to individual requirements,” Deturche said.
