Commscope has announced the release of a new infrastructure management solution, coinciding with a bold, new strategy during its Middle East road show.
This morning in Abu Dhabi, Ciaran Forde, Vice President of Enterprise, Commscope, launched imVision, the company’s next generation infrastructure solution, whilst unveiling its new strategy on contending with the trends of technology.
“We’re seeing a shift in technology; the increase of bandwidth, 3G to 4G, BYOD, etc,” said Forde.
“Someone asked me in 2001 where this will end, and my answer then was the same as it will be today; it won’t. Bandwidth is infinite and cheap. Technology will grow and spread to each corner of the globe.”
Forde delivered a keynote which focused on describing new, intelligent networks can assist the Middle East, a region, he claimed, was built on technology.
“This area is a prime focus for us, this is the home of technology. It may have been born in America, but it belongs here.”
Product manager and growth solutions VP, Matias Peluffo said: “The timing is right for a new strategy and product launch like this.”
“People now are asking different questions to what they were in the past. Today, they want to know how to deal with data, cloud, process automation, and DCIM. We need to address these issues.”
Peluffo claimed that data growth and storage capacity will grow to volumes we cannot comprehend. He said that based on current storage capacity, a $350 handheld device, today, can store 6400 songs, and at the current rate of capacity growth, the same device will store 500 billion by 2040.
Forde said that Commscope is fully reliant on its partners within the Middle East, yet the company does offer a solid amount of ground support.
“This isn’t an innovation, so much as an evolution, so the risks of handing it over to our partners and saying ‘go to market and sell our new product’, are reduced, because they already know how this stuff works,” he said.
“However, we have teams on the ground in the Middle East, and we’re available to support our partners and customers whenever necessary.”
Commscope claims to have been one step ahead of the industry when it comes to the innovation of physical layer network technology. This product upgrade is no different, it will set the standard for future developments in the next couple of years, according to Forde.
