HID Global is emphasising the importance of holistic security strategies that can guarantee a smooth user experience from its Hall 6 stand.
Miguel Braojos, vice president, global sales, identity and access management, told 60 Mins about the core elements of the company’s strategy. “We want to ensure a secure ecosystem of people, applications and devices,” he said. “Our solutions connect physical access and logical access control systems. As workforces become more mobile-driven, secure access to a host of touchpoints is essential.”
Braojos went on to underline the importance of delivering a straightforward user experience for customers as part of a security solution. “A study of international CISOs and CIOs revealed that 49 percent of them believed that security and user experience are of equal importance,” he said. “Arming the average user within an organisation with the necessary knowledge and means to be security compliant is critical. You are only as strong as your weakest link. CISOs can devise a range of complicated defences, but if the user experience is not satisfactory then this will inevitably create complications.”
He also mentioned how HID Global’s solutions were ideal in preventing attacks on the GCC’s lucrative critical infrastructure targets. “We have some important clients in the oil and gas and banking sectors, and maintaining their strong governance procedures is absolutely essential,” Braojos said. “For banks, fintech is becoming increasingly important, and a key part of that is ensuring secure remote use of mobile devices.”
