PCCW Global Limited, a subsidiary of Hong Kong’s premier telecommunications provider, PCCW Limited, and Vizada Networks, a member of the Vizada Group, an independent provider of global satellite communications services, have interconnected their MPLS networks to expand the international terrestrial and satellite services coverage of both companies. Customers will benefit from the enhanced Layer 3 VPN service offerings under this cooperation.
PCCW Global’s robust and resilient worldwide MPLS network covers over 1,500 cities in 110 countries stretching across Asia, Africa, theAmericas, Europe and theMiddle East. Through the interconnect agreement with PCCW Global, Vizada Networks will gain access to one of the world’s most extensive terrestrial MPLS networks, which complements Vizada Networks’ existing international satellite coverage.
Vizada Networks’ MPLS backbone interconnects with four major satellite teleports located in the European cities of Nittedal, Fuchsstadt and Bratislava, and in Southbury of the U.S. Its satellite network serves as the foundation for providing Internet, IP and VoIP services and connects to the Seacom and EASSy submarine fiber optic cables with the capability to provide high-speed WiMAX services. The alliance with Vizada Networks will broaden PCCW Global’s satellite access coverage and the portfolio of global satellite-based service offerings.
